  • Responsible for building up and maintaining relationships with customers and suppliers
  • Responsible for viewing the market and world situation for good trade opportunities
  • Making regular business trips to suppliers and customers to open doors and build strong personal relationships
  • Liaising and coordinating sales/purchase between suppliers and customers, negotiates, secures best price, and ensures smooth delivery and timely settlement of payments
  • Making recommendations for taking long/short positions by providing supportive market analysis, evaluations and scenarios for trading
  • Monitoring day-to-day developments in the global market and reacts timely and creatively to international economic and political developments
  • Identifying and developing opportunities in which the company’s financial strength can be used in strategic alliances and investments and acquisition opportunities with producers, importers, distributors and consumers
  • Analyzing risks, coordinating with finance and recommending extensions of finance terms to customers


  • Previous farm trader or farm grain buying experience preferred
  • Sound knowledge of the agricultural sector of Ukraine
  • Excellent communication skills are needed to understand and communicate market information to farmers and growers
  • Agricultural qualification/degree/HND ideal, although not essential
  • Confident self starter with the determination to succeed
  • The candidate must have experience in grains, oilseeds and by-products trading activities
  • Banking knowledge with regard to the Letter of Credit, negotiating the documents and requirements of shipping documents is a must
  • Good understanding of contracts, process of trade flow and supply & demand positions of Ukrainian, EU-27 and Chinese markets is very much required. Other markets like Brazil, Argentina, U.S., Baltic Sea, Russia & Middle East is a plus.
  • Fluent in Ukrainian, Russian and English – additional language skills are an asset
  • Energetic, flexible, commercially oriented, analytic and capable of being “his/her own boss”
  • Good organizational skills are required to avoid being overwhelmed with the amount of information processed
  • Willing to travel internationally
  • Able to adapt to different cultures and ways of doing business
